California Yellowtail are being caught in the local waters. Miss Yellowtail Derby 2011, McKenzie Gordon, was selected by the Derby Committee. She will be at the Day at the Docks, April 17, at the San Diego Sportfishing Landings. McKenzie will also be at the Angler's Derby Launch Party on Thursday, April 28, 6 pm, at the Bali Hai Restaurant.

Information on the fishing area, rules, places to weigh fish and the Special Days will be reviewed. Fishing starts on Saturday, April 30 to May 21 for the 2011 Third Annual International Yellowtail. The Awards Party is on May 22 at the Bali Hai, 2 to 4 pm. The winner of the Derby's largest Yellowtail will be weighed-in to receive their weight in Yellowtail Pale Ale.
