new flavor to the mixed bag catches from this Caribbean port. They
are early this year and perhaps this is just the prelude to what is
going to happen come the peak season, in May? It was another busy
week for the Marina El Cid Fishing Fleet from Puerto Morelos and
reflected a total of 40 fishing days and a 13 fish variety in the
reports. The overall catches for the fleet reflected 8 sailfish, 12
dorado, 16 tuna, 10 king mackerel3 Wahoo, 7 bonito, 6 Atlantic
barracuda, 6 Spanish mackerel, 38 snapper, 19 triggerfish, 13
soapfish and 23 grouper.
PM Climate:
Partly cloudy days with intermittent periods of lots of
sunshine and warm days and comfortable evenings. Temps from 67
nights to 87 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions:
Mostly favorable with light & variable tropical
surface winds with stable sea temps at 80 degrees.
Best Bait/Lure:
No changer, here. It continues to be the ballyhoo,
both the rigged and un-rigged varieties, both from the surface
outriggers and the downriggers.
Bait Supply:
Continues to be most plentiful and fresh on a daily basis.

Report: Back on the World Famous EL BUDSTER. The Stan Mitchell party catches eight 20 lb. YELLOWTAIL. They fished inshore about three miles off the Los Cabos Arches. The water temp. was 68 - 69 degrees. On the EL BUDSTER II. Gary Bowen from Bakersfield, CA catches and releases a 130 lb. STRIPED MARLIN. It was caught on a live Caballito. The fighting time was 35 minutes. He also catches two 25 lb. DORADOS. They fished at the 1150 Reef.......
