BASS
Bass have been biting in the coves and along the dams between 5 and 15 feet, but most of those are dinks. If you want a keeper you gotta fish deeper. 30 feet or greater has been the best for big bass. Texas or Carolina rigged lizards and brush hogs, Senkos, jigs, and drop shot rigged straight tails in purple and green variations have been the most reported baits. There has been hardbait action with shad or perch jerks or cranks.

TROUT
It was a slow week for trout fishing. There were some notable fish this week, but over all quantities were low. Nightcrawlers, spinners, mini jigs, Powerbait, and trout worms have been the best baits to use. Along the west shoreline, and in the marina cove were the best reported spots this week. Chuck Chambers caught a 10 pound trout fishing with a plastic worm.

STRIPER DVL had a seesaw striper bite this week with some folks filling their boats and still those getting nil. Most folks are getting striper outside the inlet tower fishing with anchovies, mackerel or sardines. There is a slight bite for those trolling shad lures, white flies, or white swimbaits. Most fish are between 50 and 90 feet down.

CATFISH
Cats are up in the shallows biting on anchovies, mackerel and shrimp. The marina cove the eucalyptus trees the wave attenuator and near the rock quarry are all great spots for catfish.

PANFISH
The panfish bite has just begun with some catching a few crappie, red ear and bluegill in the shallows. Most recent catches have been incidental so it is hard to say a specific bait choice or location, but fishing around rocky areas or cover is a good start. Jigs or live worms are typical baits.
