"Another day of scratch fishing, wrote Red Rooster III skipper Andy Cates June 2, aboard his Accurate June Heat expedition, the last big fish trip of the season.

"We got one little shot in the early morning for 10 and then picked in the afternoon ending the day with 30 tuna and 27 wahoo. Alec Robbie Won the trophy today with a 195-pound tuna on a flylined sardine. Bob Michener and Bill Walsh got bigger fish. Bob had a 203 and Bill caught a 220-pounder, but the kite fish don't count for the daily prize. Alec walked away with a nice WFO tackle box.

"Bait-making is tough and we are running out of squid. We were only able to catch a handful of flyers last night mostly because the porpoise were eating them. Tonight more of the same; even less flyers though. We will report again tomorrow."
