http://www.tributesportfishing.comHello Anglers, Welcome to another day on the Excel. Today we basically stuck to our same routine, and it once again paid off for us. We had a steady pick on the 50 to 80 pound fish, with a few right at 100 pounds or maybe a hair over. We managed to keep two to four fish going most of the morning, but occasionally would have as many as seven or eight of those bigger fish hanging at once. As it has been, the bite slowed down right after lunch so we moved up the Island again. We were about a half a mile from "Westy's" and we could see fish boiling on a bait ball right on top of the shallow. We threw a chum circle and the fish came right to the boat. As we settled back on the anchor we already had a few fish hanging, which turned in to another great bite. Today's fish were on the chunkier side with a lot of them in the 40 pound range, some of our anglers decided to have some fun fishing lighter line. Ouch. And the fish were willing to eat the surface iron, the surface popper and one guy managed to get a few on a Storm swim bait. Good times to be had by all. Today we are going to try and catch some big Yellowtail up at the north end of Guadalupe, with mackerel and squid for bait, we will see if we can't entice a few lunkers before it is time to go home. We'll let you know how it went. Mike Pritchard
