http://www.tributesportfishing.comHello Sportfishing enthusiasts, Here is what happened today aboard the Excel: We arrived at the rocks at 0900 and found favorable conditions and nice weather. It didn't take long after setting up on the anchor to start hooking fish. I want to let you know, that if you plan on doing an 8 day trip or longer, to bring some heavier tackle!!! We had steady fishing through out the day, and at times it was pretty darn good considering the size of the fish. A flylined sardine on 60 pound was the way to go. Some of our anglers actually moved up to 80 pound after landing a fish or two, because of the butt kicking these fish are able to give. The fish are between 70 and 130 pounds, some may be even larger. So make sure that your 60 and 80 # gear is in good order, you never know when you might need it. We will be here tomorrow, and I will try and give you an update around the same time. As for me, I am on my way down to enjoy a Pork Chop dinner that smells to good to let go cold. Mike Pritchard Below is a picture of Cathy Rooney, who I might ad, did an exceptional job pulling on these fish. Also Kurt Hertzen with a nice Yellowtail, who would like to say hi to his wife and daughter. And Chris Matro with a nice Yellowfin.
