http://www.excelsportfishing.comHello Anglers, Well as you know we stayed the night here at Guadalupe Island and it was a pleasant place to spend the night. Last night we picked up a few yellows but none were over 30 pounds. There was a good amount of squid around in which we caught for bait. In the morning we were anchored up in the same place we were yesterday but we only picked up 7 yellowfin to 40 pounds before we picked up the anchor to look around. Not catching tuna there was somewhat of a blessing because it forced us to look around with the jigs and were pleasantly surprised with some wahoo action. Our first jig strike was a four way on the wahoo and one yellowfin tuna and we hooked and lost one other wahoo on the Braid Slammer jig. The next stop we had one wahoo and one yellowfin on the troll and with that strike came one bait fish and one fish on the chrome jigs. The third strike we had a double on the wahoo and we had one bait fish there and a jig fish and we lost three other wahoo. We also picked up 9 yellowfin on that stop. The final stop we had a single wahoo and one yellowfin. At 1130 we finally left the island and headed for home and our ETA is 0815 to Fisherman's Landing. The picture that I am sending is of (from left to right), Ko Katsui, John Hay, Lou Kyzivat, and Ben Miller with four of the twelve wahoo we caught before we had to leave for home.
