Hello Anglers,

Pleasant is the way to describe our day today. The weather was as nice as it can be and the fishing was as good as we could have wanted it this trip. Our morning hours were pretty slow with only a few stops on albacore and a kelp that we picked up 15 yellowtail from 15 to 28 pounds. Thought our day was going to be slow fishing but around 1300 hours it seemed like the fish came up all at the same time. There were spots of bluefin and albacore jumping in all directions around us. We got on a spot of mixed albie and bluefin at 1315 and drifted on it until 1745 and picked up 161 bluefin and had excellent albacore fishing to go with it. The bluefin were in the 20 to 40 pound class and I would say that the average albacore was 24 pounds all were caught on the flylined sardines. At 1800 we got on a big area of albacore that had a few bluefin mixed in with them and they were biting very good. We had a couple of albies that we got while just putting the gaff hook in the water and they would come up and bite it, the passengers were down to using only there 80 and 100 pound line and they did just fine with it. A very pleasant day with EXCELlent fishing. Tomorrow we are going to be a little closer to home to try for a few more albacore and a few more bluefin. Reported by: Shawn Steward

Hello Anglers,

WOW, What an excellent way to end a trip.We started 30 miles west of our last bluefin area in hopes to find some trophies;and we did.The morning started out with a single jumping bluefin out on the horizon and quickly turned into a great bite on 85-150lbs. fish.I would have to say we hooked 40 of the shortfin, and due to light gear and underestimated size,we boated 20 of them.Clayton Smith caught the big fish of the day which taped......
