Throngs of holiday revelers mean that anglers must take a few extra steps to avoid the commotion, advised Fil Torres at Oroville Outdoors. "Fishing at night is starting to get very good", said Torres. "You don't have to go far, and the fish are seriously moving up in a feeding pattern starting about an hour after sundown.
"Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, worms, and topwaters are all working very well. Don't forget that the speed limit everywhere in the lake after sundown is 5 mph; otherwise you will get a citation. Daytime anglers should plan on getting off the water by 10:00 AM, but plenty of nice 14 to 17-inch cohos are biting for trollers using hoochies at 30 feet."
