http://www.silverlakeresort.netEven though the weather is hot and there are a lot of people, stringers and some quality fish have been rolling in. DFG dumped another 900 pounds of catchables again this week and we have been seeing a number of stringers coming in. Your best fishing is in the early morning and later afternoon when the sun is not beating on the water and sending the trout deep. We have seen a large number of browns coming in despite the heat, on both Rush Creek and Silver Lake. Power Baits are your best bet during the heat of the day, try using Salmon Peach, Garlic and Rainbow. Worms have been doing well early in the morning and some dry flies like a Sierra Bright Dot or a California Mosquito have been doing well later in the afternoon. Thomas Buoyant and Tasmanian Devils have been the ticket this week in the lure category. Fishing from the shore or a boat has been working this week.
Fish of the week belong to Dave Jacobson of Long Beach how landed two great rainbows along Rush Creek using Power bait. One weighed in at 2 pounds 12 ounces and the other at 2 pounds 15 ounces. Dennis Dominick of Woohford Heights landed a great looking brown from the shore of Silver Lake using Nite crawlers. His brown weighed in at 1 pound 7 ounces. Some great stringers where brought in from some of our youngest anglers this week; which we love to see. Trent, Reilly and Gavin of Huntington Beach brought in a great stringer of fish from Rush Creek using Power Baits. Luke and Jake Johnson of Santa Clarita had a stringer full from Silver Lake using Power Baits.
All in all is was an incredible week of fishing on both Silver Lake and Rush creek.
