http://www.excelsportfishing.comJustin called in to give an update on their Merritt Trip. "Everything started out well in the morning. The Yellows started out nice but it didn't take long for the Sea Lions to get on to our game. They started eating fish, they ate roughly half of what we were hooking and it just wasn't working out so we decided to move.
We headed off shore looking for a pocket of clean water outside the islands and it worked out. We got out here and found a very good sign of Yellowtail. It didn't take long to get fixed up on these things. It is a nice strain of Yellowtail, I'd say 18 to 22 lbs. with a few bigger ones mixed in. Everyone it tired out now and they are down there having cocktails, thinking about what we are going to do tomorrow. It looks like we are going to slide down and get to that warm water just above the Ridge. We'll see if we can find some Yellowfin Tuna for these guys to catch."
Anyway Justin will keep us informed so look for an additional update or two tomorrow.
