Owner-skipper Norm Kagawa finished up an eight-day trip June 17, when he docked his Shogun. There were 25 anglers aboard, and they visited Alijos and Cedros Island before returning to Fisherman' Landing. Six bluefin and a white seabass were in the catch of tuna and yellowtail and rockfish, along with four halibut.

Rick Rose of La Jolla won first place for his 52-pound yellowfin. He wasn't available for an interview.

Dave Brewer of Huntington Beach won second place for a 50-pound yellowfin, and posed on the dock with his fish.

John Ponce of Azusa was third, for a 47-pound tuna, and Dr. Steve Smith of Sierra Vista, AZ won the Rollo jackpot for a 39.6-pound yellowtail.
