http://www.fishingvideos.comJoe D'Acquisto docked Red Rooster III at H&M Landing September 18 at the end of a six-day trip sponsored by Izorline. "We fished three days offshore," said Joe, "and a day each at Cedros and Guadalupe Islands. We were just about limited out on tuna and yellowtail."
Kent Fukumoto of Santa Ana won first place for a 75.4-pound yellowfin tuna, the only one of 11 big tuna hooked at Guadalupe that escaped the hungry sharks nearby. He said he bagged it with a sardine on a 3/0 ringed Owner Super Mutu hook on 50-pound Seaguar Premier fluorocarbon, 50-pound Izorline and 100-pound Izorline spectra. He fished with a Trinidad 30 reel and a Calstar 700 H rod. The fight lasted a half-hour, said Kent and the sharks were chasing his fish when it was gaffed aboard.
Andy Perez of Anaheim won second place for a 26.2-pound tuna. Ian Burke of Lakeside got a 23.8-pound yellowtail for third place, and Joshua Finger of Scottsdale, AZ won the coveted trolling jacket for an 18-pound yellowfin he got with a cedar plug.
