Excel skipper Justin Fleck brought his 32 anglers home to Fisherman's Landing September 24 with a good mixed catch taken from waters down to and below Magdalena Bay.

Craig Barker of Rio Vista won first place for a 60.94-pound tuna he got with a sardine on a 4/0 ringed Owner Super Mutu hook on 25-pound Big Game line, an Avet HX reel and a Seeker Black Steel 6465 rod after a 20-minute fight.

Mike Flores of Orange County won second place for a 55.66-pound yellowfin tuna he got with a sardine on a 5/0 ringed Owner Super Mutu hook tied to 50-pound Seaguar Premier fluorocarbon and 65-pound Power Pro spectra on an Accurate BX-2 500 reel and a Super Seeker 6470 H rod. Wayne Stewart of Lancaster took third place for a 41-pound yellowfin tuna.
