Bill Cavanaugh called in with an update on the Pacific Queen, "We got in from our SportfishingReport.com 1.5 Day Trip on Sunday. I just wanted to give some idea of what we saw, we went up to Sur Canyon. From pictures we saw earlier there was a very defined strip of water that we wanted to fish. However, we could not locate that water, and I became a little concerned. After looking around and seeing a jig boat in the area he called me a told me he could not locate the water either. He said he had real going fishing the day before, he had 135 albacore on jigs. We did end up getting some fish located. We did catch 28 fish in that water fishing only a few hours. When we found fish they acted real good. The fish would jump on the jigs right away. There just wasn't a whole lot there because that water had broken up the night before.

"Anyhow we had a good time and everyone had fun. We go out again on Thursday. We are going to leave Wednesday night, fish Thursday another 1.5 Day Trip which will give us a lot of time on the water. Eventhough we did not get a big hit, we were kind of dealt an unfortunate hand. We had the first storm of the year come through right before we got up here. That definitely moved things around. There have been decent signs in a couple of locations since we have been on the water. If we have a stretch of good weather with some time on the water there is no doubt that we will find those fish. call Patriot Sportfishing is you want to go out (805) 595-7200."

Bill Cavanaugh - Pacific Dawn

Report Date:

Bill Cavanaugh called to give a report on their 1st trip north. He reported that they made it up to the water that the "Fiesta" fished earlier in the week. The water looked good, but not exactly what they wanted. They searched around in a 20 mile radius and ended up catching 3 fish. To summarize, they looked at a lot of water and weren't too excited about what they found, but they were going to look in another area tomorrow......
