http://www.fishingvideos.comMike Lackey parked his Vagabond at Pt. Loma Sportfishing Saturday, October 29 after a nine-day trip with the San Diego Anglers group of 16 passengers that covered a lot of fishing area.
"We went to The Ridge, the Flathead and Mag Bay," he told dock reporter Bill Roecker as he weighed the best of the catch. "We got limits of yellowtail, and 14 of our anglers got a wahoo. Our chartermaster was Dwayne Patenaude, who fished with his wife, Debbie. She got a 40-pound wahoo on bait."
That made the Debbie the first lady angler to get a skinny this season.
John Nakatani of Carlsbad won first place for a 54.8-pound wahoo. He said he got it with a sardine on a 3/0 Mustad hook, 40-pound mono, 60-pound spectra on a Daiwa reel and a seven-foot rod.
The angler who won second place for a 34-pound tuna wasn't available for photos. Bob McKittrick of El Cajon won third place for a 25-pound yellowtail. The jackpots were awarded to the three species on this trip, not to the three largest fish.
