https://tomloe.com/Happy holidays friends. The moment we have been waiting for has finally arrived and I am not talk'n bout X-mas gang. The flows have crashed on the Lower Owens River (well below 200) and the drift boating and wade fishing are excellent. Great numbers with some bigs on the chew as well. Spruce-A-Bu's & Loebergs #8-10. The forecast is calling for some wind and cooler temps for a short while, however it will once again warm up and the "catching" is going to be excellent. There are still some good mayfly hatches mid-day so be prepared to fish for risers in the foam at this time. FB PT's # 16-20 are good choices as well as my new bird's nest pattern I call the Assassin.
Please click on the Facebook or YouTube links on our Fish'N Conditions page of the website and check out the two new videos we did on the fall fly fishing happening on the Upper Owens right now.
Click on www.sierradrifters.com/fish.htm and then the Facebook or YouTube links. It is phenomenal! The rainbows and browns that are currently in the UO are the finest wild trout the Eastern Sierra has to offer. These migratory fish from Crowley are large, powerful fighters and average 20 inches with several in the 26 inch class showing up for a rumble! SJ worms with an egg/roe pattern, or FB PT's & Assassins #14-18 have been getting them regularly.
We have guides open that are chomping at the bit to put you on what is turning out to be an epic fall. Get up here before winter sets in folks.
