http://www.lakecuyamaca.org/lastweek.htmWell, if the worst thing you can talk about is the weather....let it blow, let it blow, let it blow. Full limits have been taken with some "lunker" trout included. Both JESS RANCH and MT.LASSEN out-performed our expectations. Both hatcheries stocked Lake Cuyamaca with some "trophy trout" and that is the truth. Anthony Noy of San Diego and his father returned to Lake Cuyamaca with an impressive double limit. Also included in the latest catch is John Ambrose of Descanso with a 10 pounder to top off his limit using green power bait at "Lone Pine" and Thomas Swanson from National City who caught only three fish, but one tipped the scales at 12 pounds 9 ounces on rainbow power bait also at "Lone Pine" and "Jimbo" James Gesler of La Mesa reeled in a 9 pounder in a boat just off the shore at .....yes, you guessed it....."Lone Pine". Justin Dodson of Oceanside caught two fish in 1 hour with a total weight of 16 pounds....the largest of the two was a 9 pound two ounce trout near the dam using a cleo-gold and a castmaster while trolling. On Sunday afternoon Rex Shumake of El Cajon hooked a 7 pound 8 ounce rainbow as part of his limit using night crawlers at "Pumphouse Cove" from shore. Kyle Shumake of El Cajon caught his limit....all at the dam, and all on power bait. Debbie Savy of El Cajon using power bait on the wooden dock @ Chambers Park brought in a 9 pound 4 ounce trout. So the lunkers are here if the wind doesn't blow you away. The prognosticators are predicting a change in the weather patterns. The high pressure is going to leave us..... opening the door for a frontal system to enter the San Diego area Monday or Tuesday with temperatures dropping to the point of a possibility of local snow. So if you are planning on a visit to the Lake around that time, dress warm and be prepared.
Remember that we have waterfowl hunting on Sunday mornings and Wednesdays. If you are interested in an affordable get-away, give us a call and ask about our "Off-Season Specials".......incentives to make it easy for you to get away and enjoy the mountains and the Lake.
Tight lines..........Dusty Britches.
