http://www.fishingvideos.comJig maker Matt Salas was an angler fishing aboard the Spirit of Adventure with owner Mike Keating on a five-day trip that returned June 22.
"The yellows were biting the jig real good," he reported at the H&M Landing scales. "The guys did best bouncing the jigs in scrambled egg and blue and white colors."
One of his Salas jigs was the downfall of a 36.5-pound white seabass caught by Ted Okumoto of Fresno. The jig was a blue and white 6X Jr., and Ted said he fished it on 40-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon and 50-pound Power Pro Spectra. He used a TLD 20 reel and a seven-foot Ugly Stick.
Mike Sholmire of Seal Beach won second place for a 32.5-pound yellowtail, and John Urban of Diamond Bar won third place for a 32.4-pounder.
