The very popular steelhead planting project in the Thermalito Afterbay is up and running again, according to Department of Water Resources supervising biologist Eric See. "About 5,000 steelhead are being stocked in the Afterbay this week", related See. "They are in the seven to nine inch range, and we anticipate them growing to 'catchable' size within a couple of months. There should even be some of them in the 15 to 18 inch range by next winter."
