ROGER DOES IT AGAIN!!! As I predicted it might, today did show some improvement. Morning dark bite was on time, but we replaced most of the 35 pound class tuna with a better grade and had more in the 45 to 60 range both this morning and this afternoon. Some how, some way, Roger Hawtree did it again and while the rest of us were landing the above mentioned grade of fish in the early A.M., Roger landed a 240! I'll have to retract my earlier accusation that he was keeping tuna in his stateroom, there's no way there was enough room in there for all the big ones he's landed. Mrs. Roger, if you're reading this, BUY A LOTTERY TICKET QUICK! He wasn't the only one to catch a fish over 200 today, as Gary Gillingham landed a kite fish 202. Sterling Tanouye who is really heating up lately landed a 180 on the kite also. As I said, fishing improved. The wahoo came at us in waves several times and there were some very large specimens for our future eating enjoyment. Roger also landed a very large hoo on the kite, but probably not quite as big as Rob Creek's 72 pounder that that also came off the kite. The fish totals for today needs an *. Due to filling 2 of the 3 fish holds, and having to transfer bait out of the third and subsequently begin cooling it down for tomorrow, the keeping of tuna was suspended around 4 P.M. That's a good thing, because although we may not have dozens and dozens of cow tuna (yet?), we are filling up with lots of fish. Thankfully winds died down greatly today, it was one of the nicest weather days we've had here. Weather and fishing both improving, what more could you ask for? POEM OF THE DAY: It was my turn to be up trolling But the boat was rocking and rolling I fell on my back Knocking rods off the rack And it felt more like I was bowling.
