Captain Frank checking in from the bridge of the Ranger 85. We have just a few short weeks left to go in our whale watching season and that means it's time to put the scoops, gaffs, rod holders and anglers aboard as we begin to head offshore fishing the Northern Channel Islands.

The water remains cool and there is a little bit of squid around. This bait makes for excellent catches of quality, delicious Rockfish and promises the possibility of some game fish too. The past few seasons have seen record catches of Seabass and Halibut and I believe this season will follow suit.

We have a great schedule of multi-day trips this season including the addition of 3 day trips fishing the islands. Last season in October our 3 Day trip was so well received we had to add a couple more to the 2012 spring schedule. Our first few 2 day trips have filled but there remains availability on several others on the spring schedule through June.
