https://www.thesandiego.comRyan Bostian called in with this report, "We went out with 23 passengers, we're coming back to the dock here with 48 Yellowtail, that's 48 on the Yellowtail and 11 Barracuda. It seems like things are really shaping up down here. We've been looking at these Yellowtail for the last month, month and one-half, everybody has been scratching at them catching a few. But nothing like today. Today we got down to Coronado Islands, the water temp was about 63 degrees. They definitely changed their behavior today.
"We caught most of our fish today on fly line baits, 25 or 30 lb test, a little fluorocarbon topshot definitely helps. I would not get carried away with too short of a topshot. If you are going to be fishing with Spectra, make sure you have 75 or 80 feet of fluorocarbon on the end. We did pull a lot of hooks today with guys fishing short topshots.
"We landed 48, we hooked a lot more than that. It was a great, great trip. Most of our fish did come on the fly line sardines. However we did catch some on the surface iron as well. By far the best fishing of the year so far. It's probably just a sign of things to come. If you'd like to go out with us we offer these 5:30 to 5:00 all day fishing trips out of Seaforth Sportfishing every single day of the week. Please call down to the landing and make a reservation, 619-224-3383."
