A very upbeat report from Temo Verboonen, our reporter for the Zihuatanejo area and skipper of his super panga, "Secuestro De Amor". Even the current tropical depression, "Bud", has not hampered the fishing for the area nor has it interfered with the sea conditions for the area. Temo reports the deep sea fishing is on the rise and the sailfish bite is within 10 miles of the Bay and has been accompanied by occasional marlin strikes, keeping the anglers spirits high for a change. Lots of bait along the coast line with green jacks and big eye jacks in schools all over and the bigger fish are following them. Good inshore fishing for roosterfish, too, with the jack crevalle chasing the anchovies near the rocks, which has been great for spinning tackle. There's been some yellowfin tuna mixed in with the schools of bonito schools that's adding to the overall excitement and change in the fishing. Finally, it appears that the fishing has returned to some normalcy in this area.

IZ Climate: Mostly cloudy but warm days and evenings with temps ranging from 70 nights to 91 daytime highs and a few chances for some scattered thunder storms and rain predicted for Saturday.

Sea Conditions: Mostly calm with light & variable surface breezes and excellent sea temps that are holding at 84-85 degrees from inshore to offshore and good clarity.

Best Fishing Areas: Good fishing for billfish within 10 miles of the entrance to Zihuatanejo Bay.

Best Bait/Lure: The billfish biting well on the slow-trolled rigged baits and the inshore fishing has been good on spinning tackle with pencil poppers and live bait, too.

Bait Supply: Continues to be readily available for all of the boats in this area.
