Yesterday here at Alijos Rocks was just what we where looking for after the action packed three days we spent on the inside, nice steady scratch fishing on yellowfin tuna in the 40 to 120 pound class from mid morning until early evening. This trip has shown our group of passengers pretty much all aspects of the long range experience and yesterday did not disappoint us filling out the final dimensions with good kite fishing for most of the afternoon. With the reports from here being on the slow side we did not have high expectations coming out, we were looking for a few quality fish to settle the jackpot and take the coveted Seeker Rod trophy which will go to the angler this trip that catches the largest fish on a Seeker Rod. Needless to say we where very pleased to find the type of action we did on this quality Alijos Rocks Yellowfin Tuna, as it stands this morning the bar is set at approximately 120 pounds if someone is going to take that Seeker trophy away from Jim Odlum who landed a beautiful kite fish mid day yesterday.

The final fishing time we have will be spent here at Alijos Rocks trying for more of this nice grade yellowfin tuna to complement our nice load of variety and quality fish already on-board, we will be depart after lunch today and start our 468 mile voyage toward home. I will report our final days fishing experience and the progress of our northern journey tomorrow morning, wish us luck on our final fishing day of this long range adventure.

The red Rooster III feels like its fall

Report Date:

The last couple of day's gave me the impression while fishing offshore that we where fishing on an eight or ten day trip in the fall. We had good tuna and Dorado jig strikes, we found both species on kelps, along with our lone kelp paddie wahoo and Yellowfin Tuna under porpoise. The tuna we caught yesterday where not the size we target under porpoise schools in the fall but nice 18-30 pound fish that at times gave us wide......
