Trout fishing really turned on this week and many anglers caught some quality hold-over fish. In the early morning trolling needlefish, rapalas and dodger/crawler combos down to 4 to 6 colors at the dam was the ticket. When the wind picks up, drifting a worm did well.

Both Largemouth and Smallmouth are still biting on top waters early and bottom bouncing techniques during the day. Crappie made a good showing as well with slabs up to 2 lbs. coming out of Santa Cruz and the narrows. Don't forget the catfish. They are active in shallow coves and creek channels all over the lake on cut mackerel. Bow fishing for Carp is very good early and late around the island and in the narrows. Bluegill and even a couple Redear were reportedly caught around the back of Arrowhead Island.
