http://www.silverlakeresort.netThe wind has died down and the fishing is picking up. Thanks to a load of 900 Pounds of DFG fish and a load of Alper's trout to be coming in the next few days, fishing looks to be strong over the 4th of July weekend.
This past week we continued to see a number of great looking stringers full of one to two pound stockable trout being caught both in Silver Lake and Rush Creek. Anglers were knocking them dead this week with the ever faithful Thomas Buoyant in a Gold/Red pattern, as well as the usual Power baits; Garlic, Salmon Peach, Salmon Egg Red, being used during the heat of the day. Early morning and late afternoon once the sun is off the water, Anglers were doing well with some combinations of dry and streamer flies, from a California Mosquito, and a Black Gnat, to a streamer being trolled like a Olive Matuka or a Hornberg with lots of success.
Fish of The Week;
Debbie Young landed a beautiful 2 pound 1 ounce Brown from Grant Lake pictured above
Young Trevor Willis, age 6, of Temecula, Photo # 1 landed his first ever fish from the shore of Silver Lake using a good old fashioned worm.
Jimmy Orsag of Murrieta, Photo # 2 landed some good looking rainbows, one of them weighing 2 pounds 1 ounce using Garlic Power bait from the shore of Silver Lake
Caleb Melson of Bakersfield, Photo # 3 also landed his first ever rainbows with the biggest weighing in at 1 pound 7 ounces using a Thomas Buoyant from the shore of Silver Lake
Also, don't forget about Silver Lake Resort's annual Horseshoe Tournament and BBQ scheduled for Wednesday July 4th from 11 am to 4 pm with live Music by "Good Livin", raffle prizes, great BBQ and the always exciting Horseshoe Tournament.
Happy Fishing and Good Luck!!!
