"We made our way up into the tuna area just after lunch," wrote Red Rooster III skipper Andy Cates July 3. "Good life around, birds, whales, porpoise and good sign of bait. We hooked a couple of yellowfin on the troll, and started hooking fish on the bait. The baitfish turned out to be bluefin, and they got on us pretty good. The fish settled in under us, and we drifted with them till dark, always keeping a couple going. Everybody had more than a couple opportunities. It turned out to be a really fun day of fishing. The weather is fantastic so we are staying for the night to see what this area looks like in the morning."
