"We arrived in the zone just after lunch," said the report from Intrepid July 20, "and found a school of Tuna that reacted very well, but would not bite for us. Around 1:00 p.m. we came across a very good school hanging deep in the water column. For the first 30 minutes they would not bite, but they gradually came up and we began to pick away at the beautiful grade Bluefin for the next five hours. It was a classic Bluefin style plunker drift with one to four hanging and a few breaking the surface up swell. Everyone was able to hook into one with a few hot sticks boating three or four Tuna. There was also the occasional Dorado in the mix. We will get the sea-anchor out and give it a half day tomorrow before we call it a trip, and what a trip it has been."
