The Klamath Steelhead fishing has turned on

The Fly Shop

Current River Conditions: The steelhead fishing way down near Klamath Glen has turned on. Expect to find chrome in the 4 lb class with some going over 5 lbs. Smaller King Salmon are in as well. The fishing can be great one day, then nothing the next. Look for the fishing in the upper river, around Hornbrook, CA., to pick up mid October.

The Fly Shop's ? Tips: Go fish the lower river, near Blue Creek, for best results. We recommend fishing from a boat in order to access the best water. Best flies are going to be various egg patterns including clown-eggs and micro spawns in yellow and pink for single-hand fly rod fishing. Swinging SALT Stones, Euphoric Muddlers and articulated leeches on a spey or switch rod, wearing shorts and sandals and short sleeves has to be experienced!
