Another great fishing week from Puerto Morelos that offered anglers a 12 species mixed bag catch. The anglers that fished the longer trips had better success ratios if for no other reason than just more fishing time was being allotted to the group. We had a couple of port closure days due to adverse weather conditions but otherwise, it was par normal throughout the area. Catches for the 20 days fished reflected 2 blue marlin, (200-250 lb. ranges) 4 sailfish, 10 Giant Atlantic barracuda, 1 king mackerel, 4 wahoo 12 tuna, 4 dorado, 5 Spanish mackerel, 11 bonito, 13 triggerfish, 11 snapper and 5 grouper.

PM Climate: Partly cloudy days for the most part with an occasional chance for a shower, along with intermittent sunshine and temps that ranged from 74 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Other than the two rough days with port closures, the overall conditions have been near perfect. Temps are stable at 85 degrees throughout the area and the surface breezes are light and tropical, flowing from the easterly directions, just enough to keep a ripple on the waters.

Best Bait: The always available ballyhoo baits, fresh caught on a daily basis, continues to be the bait of choice for all of the crews in this area.
