According to Captain Temo Verboonen, the two areas are full of sea life action and overall conditions just couldn't be any better. The offshore fishing for billfish starts at about 10 miles and the dorado are within a couple miles of the coastline. The inshore fishing for roosterfish and jack crevalle remains very good, especially in the area of Valentin point and Antenas, just to the south of Zihuatanejo Bay. There are some real trophy sized roosterfish being caught and most are being photographed and released. 50 pounders are fairly common and some have pushed the 75-80 lb. mark.

IZ Climate: Mostly cloudy days with light & variable surface breezes and a chance for PM showers. Temps ranging from 70 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Superb! Very light surface breezes, almost no swell and temps that are stable at 85-86 degrees from inshore to offshore. Blue water is very close in and the billfish bite starts at about 10 miles from the Bay.

Best Bait/Lure: The offshore billfish taking the rigged baits aggressively. Dorado seem to be catering to the smaller artificials, including Ranger lures. The inshore fishing has been very good using live bait for the roosterfish and jack crevalle, but also the 2.5 inch Ranger Lures are doing very well for the roosterfish and the spinning tackle is working very well for the inshore bite.

Best Fishing Area: To the south of the Bay for inshore fishing and straight out for the billfish and dorado.

Bait Supply: Excellent supply of both, live bait and fresh rigging baits.
