Following the torrential rains of August, the fishing bounced back with a vengeance in the Mazatlan area and the sailfish have decided they want to bite. Everyone is hoping the bite will continue and from the elements overview, there is no reason the bite shouldn't. Overall, conditions are near perfect and the temperatures and clarity remain excellent throughout the area. The overall fish counts for a total of 10 days reflected 9 sailfish, (3 released) 4 dorado and 1 yellowfin tuna for the offshore waters and for the 6 super panga fishing days reporting for the inshore fishing reflected 2 sailfish, 1 corvina, 2 red snapper, 15 dorado and 5 trigger fish.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly cloudy days with a 50-50 chance for late PM showers and light surface breezes. Temps stable at 74 nights to 88 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Overall, very good with little swell condition, mostly light & variable breezes from the westerly directions and a very stable sea temp conditions that ranges from 83-84 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: Most of the sailfish came from the offshore waters at about 20 miles and beyond, out to the southwest off the Marina El Cid. More and more tailers and sleepers are being seen throughout this area on a daily basis and should lead to some very good catches in the coming weeks if no changes occur.

Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits were best for the billfish and the dorado in the offshore waters.

Bait Supply: Remains very good with plenty of fresh rigging baits and live bait for the boats.
