Virginia Lakes Backcountry Report

The backcountry lakes are producing small brooks and a few air stocked bows near the inlets and outlets. Lures, flies and worms are the attraction for the upper reaches of the canyon. Thunderheads gathered and we got a total of about 5 drops of rain. Brush fires closed US 395 from Kern County Line to Bishop today turning people around to find alternate routes into the high country. Holiday traffic has slowed and fishing should return to normal after the moon goes into hiding until its next cycle. Dratted moon!

Virginia Lakes Resort is located near the top of Conway Summit between Mono Lake and Bridgeport, CA. We have everything you need to enjoy the Eastern Sierra. Check out our WEBSITE.
