The Stripers and Catfish are on the bite at Del Valle Lake

Marina Hours: 6:00 am to 8:00 pm
Park Hours: 6:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Last Plant: September 10th, 1,000 lbs. of Trout from Mt. Lassen. On September 17th they stocked 750 lbs. of trout from Mt. Lassen.
Water Temperature: 79 degrees

The Stripers are on the bite at Del Valle. They are hitting on Anchovies and on some jigs. The Black bass bite isn't as good as it was previously. The bass bait of choice is spinner bait and jigs with craw trailers and other shad like lures. Catfish are biting on Mackerel, Anchovies, Chicken liver and worms. The Catfish can be found mostly under the cover of trees and docks. A few trout have been caught jigging with nightcrawlers. That seems to be the only way to get an interest from the trout at this time. The last couple of weeks we have seen a lot of trout being stocked in preparation for the winter season. So we anticipate a very good trout season this winter.
