Water Temperature: 77 degrees
The Stripers are picking up. They are hitting on Anchovies and on some jigs. The Black bass are biting on jigs, top water poppers, spooks and pencil poppers. The trout are still not biting due to high heat which will last until Tuesday up here.
Note from a Del Valle Fisherman
I had a fun outing at Del Valle today, September 27th. I started fishing late around 10:30 AM and had no bites until 3:00 PM. Then I caught 4 smallmouth between 3 PM and 5 PM. The total weight for those fish was 5.25 lbs. The largest fish weighed about 1.75 lbs. All fish were caught using Panther Martin Spinner-2 in Heron Bay and the narrows. Fish seem to be congregating on the West shore. With the lake turning over the bait fish and the Smallmouth's are much more scattered in the last few weeks. The surface temperatures are around 74-75, so fish slightly deeper at 15 ft. of water in the water column of 25-35 ft.
I want to compliment your staff, particularly Bob & Danny for their courtesy and assistance. They make it a pleasure for me and my friends to fish the lake.
All the best,
Dr. Al Hurwitz
