http://www.fishingvideos.comRod builder Ken Bush chartermastered his annual 10-day trip aboard Intrepid with 19 anglers. They arrived October 5 at Pt. Loma Sportfishing when skipper Kevin Osborne docked the boat.
"Fishing was pretty good," said the chartermaster. "We had to deal with bait issues and a hurricane, but it worked out. We had some excellent stops on yellowtail and dorado. The tuna were scattered."
Bush won first place for his 44-pound yellowfin tuna. He bagged it with a sardine on a 2/0 Owner Flyliner hook tied to 40-pound Seaguar Premier fluorocarbon, 40-pound Maxima line and 60-pound Line One spectra on an Avet JX reel and a GRUSA HP 70 seven-foot rod.
Mark Liebrecht of Woodland Hills won second place for a 38.8-pound wahoo, and David Fay of LA won third place for a 38-pound skinny.
