"We had excellent yellowtail fishing," he told dock reporter Bill Roecker. "Dorado, too; and they were good grade fish. We found 13 wahoo down below, on and off the high spots, and saw good sign of yellowfin tuna everywhere."
Chartermaster Lacroix took first place for his 48-pound dorado residing in the fish bin. He said it bit on a Salas 6X heavy jig in a home-painted green tone. He fished with 50-pound Izorline and 60-pound Line One spectra on an Department of Fish & Game RegulationsAccurate BX-2 600 reel and a Super Seeker six and a half-foot rod.
Tony Marsden of Torrance won second place for a 28-pound dorado. Brad Hall of San Diego took third place for his 27-pound wahoo. Tom Fitzgibbons of San Diego posed at the scales with his 23.4-pound skinny.
