Catfish are still going strong here and are taking fly-lined baits in 3' to 15' in the backs of coves with prominent channels such as Johnsons', Cachuma, Santa Cruz and Harveys'. Bass action showed somw signs of improvement, and numerous fish came off offshore breaks. Spoons and jigs were the baits of choice. The Crappie bite is fair with Santa Cruz Bay and the narrows producing some quality slabs. Trolled roostertails nd mini jigs accounted for the majority of paper mouths. There are a lot of trout near the dam, but biters are hard to come by. Trout plants should resume shortly, exact dates will be supplie when they are known. Carp have been providing decent bow fishing opportunities in the backs of coves.
