Joe Crisci backed Red Rooster III in at H&M Landing November 8 following the yearly CharkBait trip with 29 anglers and chartermaster John Hazlett aboard. "We fished on The Ridge and local," said skipper Crisci. "We had great fishing on The Ridge for yellowtail and yellowfin tuna, and we found dorado on a floating dead turtle."

On her first eight-day trip, Adell Fuller, pictured above won first place for her 69-pound tuna. It came on a double trouble sardine rig under the fishing kite, on one of the boat's kite rigs: 100-pound Izorline, 130-pound Izorline spectra on an Accurate ATD 30 reel and a Seeker 6463 XXH rod. "This is an awesome boat," she said at the scales, "and so was the crew and the fishing. It was all nice."

Tony Elazegui of San Diego won second place for a 54-pound yellowfin tuna. Steve Vetrone of Santa Fe Springs won third place for a 49.8-pound tuna. The trolling jacket was won by Joe May of Orlando, for a 38-pound wahoo.
