"We had some great fishing today," wrote skipper Bill Cavanaugh aboard the Intrepid January 3. "The action started just before first light, and the first fish on the deck was a fish around 160 pounds landed by Mitch Chivara. We picked up another five or six fish of that grade to go along with steady action on 60 to 90-pounders. It was a great way to end the trip and we had to start our way home at noon. The weather improved again today and we had 15 knots of wind."
