http://www.excelsportfishing.comOur final morning produced four more cows for Team Hoo. Roger Elkins, who has been fishing the Excel for as long as I can remember, had never caught a cow before this trip. Today Roger started things off in the dark with a 240 pound kamikaze tuna that went nuts after it was gaffed. This is Rogers third cow for the trip with a fourth fish that may make it that taped out at 199. Dr. Lee Erlendson was next with a chunky 218. Jake House caught his first ever cow, a long and skinny 245 pounder. And the final fish of the trip was Dennin Petersons 243 pound beauty. We also had good action on smaller tuna, perfect for the RSW on the last day. We called it around 1100 and put it on course for home hopefully leaving a little time to goof around on the way up. I'm not sure of our total cow count for the trip just because there is so many fish that taped out from 195-199 that all could potentially be cows back at the dock. If I had to guess, I would say somewhere between 22 and 30 cows for our six days of fishing down here. If you think about how bad the weather was while fishing this trip, Team Hoo put together another amazing catch. Job well done.
