Manager John Yamate at Seaforth Sportfishing (619) 224-3383 had good news today, March 12, for local anglers.

"Hi Bill:

Just letting you know that the San Diego had 30 yellows in the 18 to 30-pound range on board at one P.M. today and is still fishing. Skipper Ryan Bostian said that there are some big spots of fish around. Most of them are yo-yo fish; however there were several caught on surface iron this morning also. Things are looking up!"

The Malihini is also catching quality yellowtail at the islands today, according to Ollie at H&M Landing (619) 222-1144. Skipper Mike Schmidt reported a dozen fish of quality onboard, with many lost to overly light tackle used by passengers.
