http://www.fishingvideos.comNorm Kagawa brought his Shogun home to Fisherman's landing June 18 with a good mixed catch that began with a visit to Thetis Bank.
"The yellows there ate everything," commented Norm, "jigs, bait, whatever. Yesterday we had a good day locally, for 55 yellowfin and 30 bluefin. The catch and release trophy was shared by Claude LaBonte of Payson, AZ and John Keeler of Santa Monica, who each cut loose 28 yellowtail. Those weren't rats, either; they were 20 to 25-pounders!"
Ed Otero of Palm Springs won first place for a 48.6-pound yellowfin tuna. He said he caught it with a sardine on a 1/0 ringed Super Mutu hook and 30-pound Izorline backed with 65-pound Spectra on an Avet reel and a 660 Seeker rod.
Dale Puett of Oceanside was second, for a 46.6-pound tuna. Travis Canada got a 43-pound white seabass at Thetis; good for third place in the jackpot.
