http://www.lakesabrinaboatlanding.comLittle bit of an afternoon thunderstorm hit Sunday afternoon brining about a third of an inch of much needed rain to the Sabrina Basin. Temperatures dropped to the high fifties while lightning flashed and thunder boomed for a couple of hours - so relaxing and it sure did smell good. We had had a few cloudy afternoons with maybe 10 to 15 sprinkles hitting the ground, but this one was a great one.
Fishing this week was a tad on the slow side with patience being the name of the game. We did se a few limits come in and during the thunderstorm on Sunday, one angler taking refuge in the Sabrina Caf?? was heard - 'Boy, fishing is great!` Maybe it`s turning around.
The fishermen who did bring in fish from the Dingleberry Inlet were using Salmon Eggs and NightCrawler as were those fishing the Little George and George Inlets. The successful lead core trollers were going down about 5 to 7 colors and using a red-dot frog pattern lure or a red-throated olive matuka. Shore fishing with PowerBait in the cove across from the landing and the bay to the south of the landing brought in some fish. Patience was the name of the game this week.
The Department of Fish and Game was not able to stock the lake this week due to the aftermaths of the fires which are all out. We had a bit of smoke come into the area which didn`t cause us any problems. We ask that you all be real careful this year and remember Smokey`s Motto - "Only YOU can prevent Forest Fires!"
It was a HOT week in the canyon high`s in the mid 80`s and low`s in the high 40s. We had some rain on Wednesday morning and clouds in the afternoon. The temperatures are going to drip by 10 to 15 degrees early next week
We have our fleet of green fishing boats, 2 kayaks for rent along with a canoe and the Party Boat (pontoon boat) which has propane BBQ for those wanting to fry up some burgers or hot dogs out on the lake and keep on fishing.
We had a black lab that got out of the owner`s truck on Thursday, May 17th. It was picked up by a father and son who were in a gray - gold - taupe Chevy Z71 extended cab. Please give us a call if you happened to have picked up the dog. The owner extended his trip, stopped by the lake 3 mornings hoping the people who picked up his dog had come back to see if anyone had lost a dog.
Our summer hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm. The cafe will be serving Breakfast from 7:00am to 11:00am and Lunch from 11:00am to 4:00pm everyday at least through Labor Day.
Remember your polarizers, sunscreen, bug juice and PONCHO along with a few layers of clothes - just in case.
If you have any questions, send an email to Fish@OurLakeSabrina.com or give us a call at 760-873-7425. ??
