Trout fishing has been good for those trolling or drifting worms in the 30' to 40' water column in the West end of the lake. Several limits were reported & hold-overs to 5 lbs. were taken.

Both Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass are taking top water bait both early and late. The Bass have also been receptive to texas rigs, jigs and drop shots in the middle of the day.

Catfish have been seen coming out of the backs of coves such as Johnson's and Cachuma on cut mackerel or packaged dough baits.

There have been a few Crappie coming out in the Narrows, Santa Cruz and Cachuma Bays. Crappie jigs tipped with a meal worm and small spinners have been the top bait choices. Bow fishing for Carp has been very good early all over the lake, and mid-day along the banks or in the Narrows when the wind comes up.
