Fishing slowed down over the weekend, but according to earlier reports striped bass had been taking top-water baits near Sand Island and from Las Vegas Wash to Boxcar Cove. Striper boils should become more common in the coming weeks. Anglers fishing for largemouth bass found some success around structure in 10 to 20 feet of water. A drop shot setup with a plastic worm in motor oil or ox blood was inviting bites.
