http://www.fishingvideos.comThe second of three Hi's Tackle Box charters aboard Royal Polaris returned July 20 after a five-day trip with 33 anglers. Skipper Roy Rose docked at Fisherman's Landing and weighed the biggest fish.
"Today we enjoyed excellent limit-style Yellowtail fishing at Cedros Island," said the report from Royal Polaris July 17. "The grade of the fish today was 15-25 lbs with a few pushing 30 lbs. We caught them on a variety of methods, fly-line, dropper loop, egg-sinker, yo-yo and the surface iron. We also had a nice bonus halibut. We're going to try for some more halibut this afternoon in the lee of the island."
At the dock six-foot, nine-inch angler Greg VandenOrdel showed what a 30-pound yellowtail looks like in his hands.
Greg Perkiss of Concord won first place for a 35-pound yellow he bagged with a sardine on a 3/0 ringed Mutu hook, 40-pound Izorline on a TLD 30 reel and a seven-foot Ugly Stick.
Harold Brown of Exeter, NH won second place for a 33-pounder, and Roger Seip of Madison, WI won third place for a 32-pound yellowtail.
