Catfish were on the bite last week as several limits were checked in at the marina. Johnson's Bay was the best location as well as Martini Bay, the narrows and just about any shallow cove. Cut mackerel, shrimp and packaged dough baits were the most effective bait.

Trout made a decent showing despite the recent high air temps. Shore anglers had some nice catches off of E Point & Harvey's. Another good approach was to drift at 30' to 50' of the water column by the dam.

Some Crappie were taken in Santa Cruz Bay but not in any great numbers. Most of the Slabs were taken trolling CD 3 Rapalas.

Bass fishing was still tough though there was some top water action both very early and late. The rising water temperatures have the fish scattered from the surface to 30' in the water column. Bow fishing for Carp was also on hold, the opportunities were the best both around dusk and down.
