 *BLUEFIN TUNA TACKLE*

On these schools of tuna, DO NOT BOTHER WITH LINE LIGHTER THAN 30LB TEST. You want to have at least one rig with 50-60lb line and it wouldn't hurt to maybe have an 80lb rig. Hooks can be 2/0-5/0 and paired with fluorocarbon will be your best bet at landing these not so gentle giants. 2 speed reels can make a world of difference. If your trip is overnight or longer, plan tackle accordingly.

*YELLOWFIN TUNA TACKLE* These Yellowfin have been mixed size from 12-45lbs. They are pretty eager to bite the 30-40lb line. 2/0-3/0 hooks, fluorocarbon and reels with smooth drag are all you need. These fish are not quite as capable of destroying tackle like these Bluefin we have been fishing. Yellowfin are also no stranger to surface plugs or yo-yo jigs.
